Working principle of air compressor oil shut-off valve

When the compressor is working, the compressed air generated will open the oil shut-off valve, and the cooling oil can circulate in the system to cool the machine head screw. When the air compressor is not working, the oil shut-off valve core is closed by spring tension, so that the cooling oil in the oil-gas separator cannot return to the screw.

Causes of failure of air compressor oil shut-off valve

1. The oil and gas separation filter element fails. When the pressure drop on both sides of the oil and gas separation filter element is too large (≥0.1 MPa) or too small (≤0.02MPa), the filter element cannot filter and separate, and the lubricating oil is not well separated at the filter element. The mixture of oil and gas passes through the control gas pipeline and blocks the control gas pipeline, causing the control gas to be unable to release pressure and the oil shut-off valve to be unable to close normally.

2. The oil shut-off valve core is faulty. The way to solve the oil shut-off valve failure is that when the valve core or valve seat is stuck, the valve core or valve seat needs to be repaired or replaced. When the spring fails, debug or replace the spring to ensure that the oil shut-off valve is working properly.

3. The solenoid valve fails. When the air compressor is running, if the normally open or normally closed solenoid valve is aged due to use, the valve core fails, or the solenoid coil fails, the solenoid valve will not be able to open or close, and the controlled gas will not be able to release pressure, resulting in an outage. The oil valve is not closed tightly.

4. The minimum pressure valve is faulty. When the screw air compressor stops running, the minimum pressure valve is closed in advance and the control gas cannot be released, resulting in the oil shut-off valve not being closed tightly.

5. The machine head one-way valve is faulty. When the screw air compressor is shut down, the machine head one-way valve is not closed tightly, causing the oil in the P1 exhaust pipe to spray back into the machine head.

The function of the oil shut-off valve of the air compressor

The oil shut-off valve is a switch on the air compressor that controls the main oil line entering the screw head. Its main function is to prevent too much oil from entering the main engine when the air compressor is started, which will cause a stall and cause air pressure The machine cannot start. When the air compressor is shut down, due to the high internal air pressure, the oil shut-off valve cuts off the oil circuit in time to prevent the lubricating oil from being sprayed out from the intake valve.

The oil shut-off valve automatically adjusts the amount of oil supply based on the pressure. When the pressure is high, the oil shut-off valve is fully opened. It is also designed to assist each other with the intake valve. If the oil cut-off valve fails, when the oil cut-off valve does not open, the machine will shut down due to high temperature immediately when it is turned on. If the oil shut-off valve is stuck in the open state, it will spray fuel as soon as it is turned on. The main reason why the oil shut-off valve cannot be opened is that the solenoid valve is not energized, the coil is burned out, the valve core is stuck, and the main controller is faulty.
